Transcendence I

Transcendence I, 2026

Rainwater, butterfly pea flower, charcoal, and acrylic ink on canvas

A still, silver sea fades into a pale sky with no line to mark where one becomes the other. Rainwater, butterfly pea flower, and charcoal from natural fires are layered in thin washes until the water seems to turn into air.

At the center, Brian O’Hara’s gold script gathers into a single dense form, written backwards in his Future Codes language. Angles, crossing lines, and short strokes stack and interlock, rising off the water like light lifting from the surface. Transcendence is written there, though it reads first as a glowing cluster suspended between sea and sky.
