Devotional Offering, 2026
Rainwater, butterfly pea flower, charcoal, and acrylic ink on canvas
A pale, quiet sea where the horizon almost disappears. Rainwater, butterfly pea flower, and charcoal from natural fires are layered in thin washes, so the soft grey water rises slowly into a warm, misted sky with no hard line between them.
Brian O’Hara’s gold script rises through it in two vertical columns, written backwards in his Future Codes language. Arcs, circles, and fine crossing lines climb from the water toward the light like something being lifted up and given. The phrase is there, though it reads first as two columns of rising gold.
