MEGAN JAMES IS A Nature based painter

Megan James is a fine artist whose work explores transformation, resilience, and the wisdom embedded in natural systems. Working primarily with natural pigments, James creates large-scale paintings that bridge aesthetic beauty with philosophical inquiry. Born in Miami and based in West Palm Beach, Florida, James has built an international following for her distinctive approach to materials and process. Her work has been featured in Restoration Hardware's 2026 collection, The New York Times, and publications including Kinfolk, Vogue Paris, Like the Wind, NYLON, and Pure Green Magazine. Her paintings are held in private and public collections globally, including through Sotheby's, designer acquisitions, and private commissions. James has collaborated with HGTV host and designer Krista Alterman Watterworth on a print collection and with California design company Lulu + Georgia. She cultivated a dedicated collector base drawn to work that offers both visual impact and conceptual depth.

“The themes of my work revolve around both the stability and impermanence of the natural world and how it informs and relates to daily life, rituals, composition and time. My works about water explores breath, rhythm, and perspective, while my land based inspired works ask the viewer to delight in the somatic beauty of desert elements like warmth and tactile textures. A provocation to seek what is unknown in the natural world is the through line across all of my pieces.”
