Local Knowledge explores a lifetime of somatic moments with the coastal land and sea of a South Florida native. The artist pays homage to her homeland by utilizing collected local materials such as charcoal, rain water and flora, blended with inks and paint, building an aesthetic that is bonded to the area. This study of the local natural world through both figurative and abstract paintings, aims to incite a sense of place and belonging inviting the viewer to inquire upon their own wisdom, intuition and knowledge associated with experiences in the coastal elements of South Florida.
